DIY | Gothic Skull & Studded Spike Chocker (With No Sewing)

Hi guys!

Today I'll be showing you how to make a pretty cool Gothic inspired chocker necklace, with absolutely NO need for sewing! We're keeping it simple, with this one! :D

You will need:

-Hot glue and gun

-Scissors

-Ribbon

-An assortment of cute beads, studs, etc.

-Fasteners

To make this the most unique chocker to you, select the beads you want to have on your chocker. I've used skulls and studs and lined them up how I want them to be on my chocker.

Have a play about with the arrangement of them and decide which looks good to you.

Next you're going to want to gently place the length of ribbon around your neck and see how snug you want the chocker to be.

REMEMBER: Be gentle! You don't want to hurt your self and don't make it too tight! You want to make sure you can breathe! Leave a little excess material, as we need to fix the fasteners on later!

Mark with a pen, on the point you'll be cutting off, if this makes it easier for you.

Once you've decided how much material you need, you should place it back down on your working surface and cut off the excess material!

Save this if you'd like; it may be useful for another project! (A matching bracelet, perhaps. :3 )

With the hot glue, glue down the chosen arrangement onto the ribbon, in the pattern you most prefer.

Make sure it's as central as you can get, otherwise it'll look wonky when it's being worn.

I decided to out mine down like this: Spike, skull, spike, skull, etc.

You also want to remember to seal the edges of the ribbon, because once they've been cut, they can easily fray.

To seal the edges, I folded over a little of the edge and glued it down, but you can also use a lighter.

Whatever works for you! :D

After sealing the edges, go ahead and add any kind of fastener that you'd like.

I used a hook and eyes.

You can use as many as you'd like, especially if you later realize you've left too much material on your chocker and you want to be able to tighten it, or loosen it as you please (Perhaps you're lending it to a friend, or gifting it to someone with a different sized neck to you).

To add the fasteners, I hot glued them down onto the ribbon, on the two circular holes at the end, that you would usually sew down.

REMEMBER: Make sure not to glue down that loop where they'd attach together, otherwise they won't be able to!
