Clothes Folding Board
I don’t believe that laundry day should be so exhausting.
No one likes folding clothes, it's time consuming and probably the most hated chore out of all.
This folding board makes everything so much easier. You can make them in several sizes, so it fits any piece of clothing you own. No more excuses such as "I don’t know how to fold clothes", now everybody can.
If you are like me, you are not the most organized person. This folding board helps me stay in control of my closet. Before making that board my room used to look like a pile of clothes since I really dodged folding clean laundry.
Now all my clothes are folded perfectly into the same size which makes my closet be more efficient. I can see everything better, no need to dig around my closet looking for something.
In this instructable I'll show how to make your own clothes folding board and how to use it.
Now all you need is 10 minutes and a cardboard.
Equipment
Cutting the Cardboard
Cut the board into:
Measure:
2 pieces of:
10 inches * 10 inches
2 pieces of:
20 inches * 10 inches
mark the outlines and cut using scissors or craft knife.
You can adjust the size of the board to whatever size you need, just keep the ratio so it looks good.
Tape Edges
Use any wide duct tape to tape the edges of the cardboard pieces.
Cut the duct tape a bit longer then the side you're looking to tape so it covers the entire side.
As an example: if you wish to cover a 10 inches side, cut an 11 inches duct tape piece.
Tape it to the side of the cardboard and cut the loose edges as close to the cardboard as you can.
Cover all 4 sides of each of the card boards.
See the picture above for better understanding.
Decorate Cardboard
Use the contact paper you want, to cover each of the card boards.
This step is for better looking board.
Though if you use used cardboard like I did (such as grocery store boxes), it also covers any dirt left ,that you don't want your clothes to touch.
Using scissors cut the contact paper into-
2 pieces of:
11 inches * 11 inches
2 pieces of:
11 inches * 21 inches
Make sure you smooth the contact paper as you apply it, so you won't have any trapped air bubbles. I used my hand to smooth it but you can use a card if you want a perfect result.
Assemble the Board
Lay out the card boards as described in the first picture above.
Use duct tape to tape one of the 10*10 inches board to all other boards as described in the second picture above.
No need to glue on the other side of the board, it makes the movement of the board more restricted.
Fold Your Laundry!
Place a clothing piece face down and centered.
Fold the right cardboard on top of the clothing, then the left one.
Fold up the bottom centered cardboard.
And that's it!
I hope you enjoyed making your DIY clothes folding board.
Feel free to decorate it and make it into a work of art.
I'm just happy I made folding clothes way faster.
