In this instructable,i am going to show you how to make a multi vibrator or a simple flip-flop circuit using Transistors,Capacitors and Resistors.

Its quite easy and fun!

First you would like to know what is a flip flop circuit.

In electronics, a flip-flop or latch is a circuit that has two stable states and can be used to store state information. A flip-flop is a bistable multivibrator. The circuit can be made to change state by signals applied to one or more control inputs and will have one or two outputs

So,now you have learned what is a flip flop circuit is.Now lets head over to make it!

ITEMS REQUIRED

The circuit needs common electronics components to build. So you can find these components easily in any electronics store.

The items are:-

1. 2 X BC 547 NPN TRANSISTOR

2. 2 X LED (Different Colours would work better)

3. 2 X 470 Ohm Resitor

4. 2 X 10k Ohm Resitor

5. 2 X 100uF ELECTROLYTIC Capacitor

6. 1 X 9 Volt Battery For Power

OPTIONAL - A Switch

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM

I have given the circuit diagram in this instructable.

Just hook it up by following the diagram and you will have a fully functional Multi Vibrator.

NOTE- LOOK FOR THE POLARITY OF THE CAPACITORS. THE WIRE BELOW THE BLACK STRIP IS NEGATIVE AND THE OTHER WIRE IS POSITIVE.

USE DIFFERENT COLOURS OF LED TO TEST THE CIRCUIT.

ENJOY!

After you have completed the circuit in a breadboard and you are fully sure that its working.

Its time to transfer it to a PCB!!

My Soldering skills are not great but still its OK!

If you are poor at soldering,PRACTICE and PRACTICE.

Feel free to comment if there is any error in making your flip-flop.
