We are making a little flashlight with a replaceable battery.

Supplies

·     Off/On Switch

·     Tape

·     LED-light

·     One 9-volt battery

·     9-volt battery clip

·     Cardboard (flexible)

·     Soldering iron (Plus flux)

·     Hot glue gun

·     Tin foil

·     Scissors

Attaching the Battery

Glue your switch and battery clip together, as seen in the photo

Soldering

Now, we want to fire up our soldering iron and solder your power wire to your switch, be sure to solder precisely.

Creating a Reflector

Next, cut out a cone shape of your flexible cardboard.

With some tin foil, make the same shape as your cut-out cardboard, and stick it on top of the cardboard with some hot glue. (Be sure to stroke the tin foil to prevent creases, this will effect the power of the flashlight.)

Creating a Reflector

Fold your cardboard into a cone, with your tin foil on the inside, but do make sure that your led can fit through, nice and tightly. Then hot glue it to hold it together. (You may have to use some tape to hold it together!)

Putting Your LED Into the Reflector

As the step says, insert your LED and hot glue It tight, try not to get any on the top of the LED, it will otherwise really dampen the light.

Bend the LED

Bend the legs of the LED, and mark the sides if needed. Plus is the longer side.

Attaching Everything

Now, attach your reflector to the switch by hot gluing it, with the LED's legs sticking out.

Soldering

Attach a new wire to the output of the switch, with the soldering iron.

Solder this new wire to the PLUS leg of the LED

Solder another wire to the other output of your clip, in my case it's a black wire.

Solder this new attached wire to your negative LED's leg, sort of like step 10.

Finishing Details

Put some hot glue through the wires, don't get it in the clip. This is just for the strength of the wires.
