Supplies
- 1x 6" Terra Cotta Saucer
- 2x 2" Terra Cotta pots
- 1x 3" Terra Cotta pot
- Plastic Tubing
- Ceramic glue
- Water Pump
- Solar Panel
- Decorative rocks (from dollar tree)
- Empty yogurt container
Drilling the Holes
- Soak every Terra Cotta piece for at least 24 hours. This will help the drilling process
- If you have one, use a ceramic bit
- Drill holes through the center of each Terra Cotta piece, slightly smaller than the diameter of your tubing. However, like the photo above I took at a crafts store, there is already a drainage hole for your plant. It might be easier to find tubing that would fit that better.
- Drill 8 smaller holes throughout the Terra Cotta Saucer.
Tubing/Glueing
- String the tubing though saucer, and 3 inch pot. Turn one of the 2 inch pots upside down and string though that as well. Place the last 2 inch pot on top of the bottom of upside down pot.
- Glue the pots together
Final Touches
- Attach the pump to the tubing underneath the saucer
- Fill the yogurt container with water and bury it so that the top is level with the surrounding ground. Place the saucer on top of the yogurt container, and put the solar panel in the sun!
- The 6" saucer fits perfectly on top of the yogurt container, I filed away a small channel for the cable for the pump to come out.
