Remember that hand-painted tote bag I've made (refer to the link below)? This upgrade of the classic solid canvas bag decorated with 3D puffy paint and duct tape really adds fun, style, and texture!

To make this, you will need the following items:
- a solid colored canvas tote bag
- duct tape in any color you want
- 3D puff paint in a variety of colors
- scissors
- ruler
- marker
- embellishments: rhinestones, flowers, ribbons, fabric
- hot glue gun to glue on embellishments
Prep Workspace

Start by laying down some old newspaper. Then, lay down your canvas bag, and slip in a piece of cardboard inside of it. This is to prevent the paint from bleeding through the bag.
Make Letters
![100_3466.JPG](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FMI/TZ2Q/IYV9BPJX/FMITZ2QIYV9BPJX.jpg&filename=100_3466.JPG)
Now, make the letters of the name you want to spell out by tracing them using a ruler. You can also use letter stencils if you have them.
Add Letters to Bag

From there, cut out the letters, peel them off, and stick them to the front of the bag.
Decorate With Paint

Finally, you can decorate the bag with 3D puff paint. You can also embellish it with rhinestones, flowers, or whatever looks great on the bag for that extra special touch! Make sure you use a glue gun for this step. Once done, let everything dry completely before using!
Here's what I did for my bag:
I used 3D puff paint to draw freehand flowers.
I also used red and green 3D puff paint, and small rhinestones to decorate these small burlap flowers that I bought on clearance at Michael's.
I also used small heart and flower patches.
I added some floral themed ribbon to decorate the handles.
Finally, I used pink 3D puff paint to trace inside the blue duct tape letters, while added dots of blue puff paint to the corners of each one.
Ready to Use!

Now, it's ready to use or shopping or as a gift bag! I made this gift bag for my nephew's daughter Mila Love!
