DIY Easy Chokers
Do you ever go to a craft store and see a really pretty ribbon that you wish was a nice choker. I mean you could just tie it as a bow but I mean a real nice piece of jewelry would be better. This is like a five minute craft project that any level of crafter/hobbyist can create!
First watch my video to get a good grasp of what you're making:
For supplies you'll need:
- Ribbon/lace/fabric
- jewelry pliers (needlenose work best)
- jewelry end clips
- jump rings
- jewelry clasp
- scissors
Step 1: Use Your Material Around Your Neck to Find the Length of Your Choker
Take your choker material and wrap it around your neck. Hold it to a length that is comfortable for you and then cut it.
Step 2: Add Jewelry End Clip to Rolled Edges
Roll the edge very slightly and then apply the jewelry ending to the rolled edge. This will prevent the material from fraying and losing grip. Use pliers to fasten the end clips together. Repeat for the other side.
Step 3: Add Jump Rings to Each Jewelry End Clip
Get out a few jump rings and create them into a chain. This will ensure that the choker won't be too tight. Add this chain to one of the jewelry end clips using another jump ring. On the other side place one jump ring with a clasp to the jewelry end clip.
Step 4: WEAR IT OUT
BECAUSE YOU'RE FINISHED! Now you add extra embellishments if you want or keep it plain! Just remember you're the one who made it!
