DIY EMP (cheap!)
Hey guys! I have recently constructed a working "cell jammer" out of household items and today I will show you how. The emp is able to short out any electronics from about 3 inches away without causing any permanent damage. It works on any electronics, such as phones, MacBooks, or any computers or TVs.
Gathering Materials!
This project is made with minimal materials. So here's what you need:
• an electric fly swatter
• some copper wire
• a soldering iron
• solder
Making the Spark Gap!
First, you will need to open the electric fly swatter and find the end of it where the 2 wires come out. Cut both wires and resolder them about 1mm away from the pole they are attached to. Next click the button on the side, there should be a spark gap now between the poles and the wires, you should see a small spark between them and hear a clicking noise.
Making the Coil.
now that you have the spark gap, you can start generating emps, but first, you need to amplify them. We can achieve this by making a small coil of copper wire and soldering each end of it to the wires on the other side of the spark gap.
Final Testing!
Now that you have it all together I recommend making a case, but only if you want to. When the button is pressed the spark gap will generate a small emp which will be amplified by the coil. To test it, place it near a calculator and point the coil at it. Then press the button. The calculator should clear or short out completely.
WARNING: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM OR INJURY CAUSED BY THIS DEVICE, DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE AROUND PEOPLE WITH PACEMAKERS BECAUSE THAT IT AGAINST THE LAW. USE COMMON SENSE!
Now that it is constructed you can use it to prank your friends or enemies. If you have any questions please leave a comment or message me through instructables. I hope to make more instructables soon and I hope you guys enjoy this one. Now have fun and make on!
