DIY Drag Racing Christmas Tree

How to make a Drag Racing theme Christmas Tree. I'm a big Drag Racing fan, and I thought it would be good project for Christmas. I have also included the video from my Youtube channel. This is a Simple project that anyone can make.
What You Will Need

You will need the following:
(1) 2" x 4" that is 96" Long
Miter Saw or Hand Saw
Clamp
(10) 3 1/2" Long Wood Screws
Green Paint and Brush, or Spray paint
Drill
Drill Bits
Tape Measure
Ornament Hooks
Screw Eyes
2 1/2" Long Pocket Screws
Pocket Screw Jig
Ornaments, I bought these from the Dollar Tree store
Step 1
Cut 4 pieces off the 2 x 4, 9" inches long and leave the rest. The long piece left over should be around 59" or 59 1/2" long
Step 2

Now set the Pocket hole jig drill bit for 1 1/2" wood. Clamp the jig to one end of the 9" long pieces and drill 2 holes.
Do this for all 4 short pieces of wood
Step 3

Measure from the end where the pocket holes are on the side. Mark at the 3" and 6" and drill with a 1/16" drill bit. Then hand screw the screw eyes in.
Note do this for all 4 pieces, but remember that 2 pieces are going to be the opposite because they will mount to the other side
Step 4

Now screw the pieces to the long 2 x 4, using the pocket hole screws. The first piece will align to the end as shown, then measure down 9" down for the second piece.
Step 5

Then from the bottom of the last short piece that we screwed on. Measure down 7" inches and from that mark, make 4 more marks every 5" inches.
Then drill these marks with the same 1/16" inch drill bit and screw in the 3 1/2" inch long screws in these holes.
Note just barely screw them in, you want the screws to stick out
Step 6

Find the center on the 1" x 9" x 20" board. With 2 screws, attached it to the bottom of the 2 x 4, as shown in the picture
Step 7

Paint it with the Green Paint
Finish

I hung the ornaments on using the ornament hooks. I then went and bought some cheap lights from the Dollar tree and added those. It's up to you about using the lights. I think it came out pretty good, and I hoped you enjoyed this Instructable. Merry Christmas
