DIY Dogs Bed

IMG_9332-2.jpg

This awesome bed can be finished within two hours (including painting).

The pieces have been designed to match each other and there's no need for nails/screws, although glue is optional.

You'll need:

  • Kirkland Signature Pillow from Costco
  • Glue (optional)
  • Paint (optional)
  • Sand paper
  • Wood laser cutting service

Cutting the Wood

Attached you can find the Bed.cdr file, all you have to do is to contact a lesser cutting service (or use your own if you have one) to set it up on a plywood sheet. you have nothing to do although you might edit the length of the bed.

The original design is intended to be used on a 40'' x 36'' pillow, it might be edited as needed.

When ordering the cuts make sure you ask for 9mm plywood.

Sand the Edges

Although this might be optional i highly recommend it, there might be a film of ashes on the plywood because of the laser cut, a quick use of the sandpaper is going to take all that ashes away.

Assemble and Glue

All the pieces have been designed to match perfectly, still, the laser cut might have +/- 0.2mm of error range, therefore, glue is recommended unless you want to unassembled the bed latter.

Paint

Still optional, but think about it, it's going to look awesome.

We're pretty much done, just add the step (recommended for older dogs, the young ones prefer to jump on) and pillow.

Here's the link to the pillow if you want to get one (highly recommended):
