Difficulty level : Very Easy

Things you will need :

  1. A used plastic bottle
  2. Small Bulb (3 to 5 volts)
  3. Bulb holder
  4. Cardboard box
  5. Battery or Power supply (3 to 5 volts)
  6. Switch
  7. Insulated wire

The Box

Step 1 : Take a small cardboard box of any color and size salvaged from any cereal boxes or cartons.

The Circuit

Make a small circuit as shown in the picture. Use a simple button switch and connect it in series with the bulb and a Battery. Fit this assembly in the cardboard box. Use a bulb holder shown below to fix the bulb firmly in it.

Various types of screw lamps are available on google and local electronics stores for cheap. I hacked it from a old toy projector I had.

The Base

Make a hole on the top side of the cardboard box and take out the bulb holder assembly through it. Attach the cap of the bottle we are going to use to the base of the holder as shown. It will be used to secure the bottle arrangement firmly.

This bottle cap will help us later to attach different shapes of flowers we will make from discarded bottles.

The Switch

Make a small rectangular window on the side of the box for the switch as shown. Take the switch out from the hole for easy access to turn it On or Off.

Take any Plastic bottle and cut the bottle in half. Use some part of it to make a small flower as shown in the picture.

I used a Mountain Dew bottle as it looks captivating because of the Neon tint.

All Assemble

Attach the whole flower assembly to the bottle cap which we previously fixed in step 3: The Base.

Try using various shapes and sizes using different colors of Pet bottles.
