DIY Display Board – Show Off Family Memories

I have a DIY Display Board and free printable you’ll love! Everyone in the family has something to be proud of; an award, artwork, school work, certificate of achievement, photos of memorable times, race medals, special trips or experiences, etc, etc, etc.
Why not make your own ‘Hall of Fame’ board? Be sure to follow the link for full details.
Preparing the Board and Frame

Use one of the pre-cut 2' x 4' mdf or wood boards from your local Lowe's, Home Depot, or hardware store. Prime and paint white. I added a faux shiplap look with a grey paint marker.
The frame is made from a 1" x 4" Select Pine stained with Minwax's Special Walnut. The frame and board was sealed with Rust-oleum's Matte Polyurethane before the text was added with a paint marker. My PDF text is designed for this 4" high board.
Adding 'The Home Team Hall of Fame' Text

I transferred the text I printed on normal printer paper by rubbing white chalk on the back of the text, flipping it over, then tracing over the front of the text with a pencil.
This will leave a white chalk outline on the board. Go over the outline with this white paint marker and allow that to dry before wiping the excess chalk powder off the frame. Fill in the text with 2 coats of the paint marker.
Finishing Touches

Add 2 Sawtooth hangers to the back of the board. Screw eye hooks and fine twine to the front of the board.
Hang Your Favorite Mementos

I used clothespins, but clips work too. Add a long cabinet handle, dowel, or towel bar to hold race medals. Or use an L-bracket to attach a 1" x 6" shelf for trophies.
Enjoy Your Finished Work.
