Read your child a bedtime story while they let their imagination run wild on this doodle pillow case.   The doodle pillowcase  is a fantastic addition to any child's bedroom.  The notebook graphics are painted on with fabric paint. and drawing on the pillow with washable markers makes it easy to clean.

Check out stitchdesignworks.com for the original Doodle Duvet cover where I got my inspiration!!!

Wash and Iron Pillow Case

Buy a white cotton pillow case.  To prep it for painting just wash it once and iron out the wrinkles.  Ironing the pillowcase well is important for the next step.

Line Dimensions:
  • Horizontal blue lines are 2" apart
  • Vertical red line is 2 3/4" from the left side (this is assuming the pillow case opening is on the bottom)
  • Circles are 1 1/4" in diamater, center of first circle is 7" from top, second circle is 15" from the top, third circle is 23" from the top

I used a paint brush with a flat head like the one in the picture.  It was about 3/16" wide so all of my lines are 3/16".

Painting the lines is pretty straight forward, just make sure to paint the blue lines first, then the red line, then the circles.

Allow the paint to dry for 24 hours.

Iron and Wash

24 hours after painting your pillowcase, thoroughly iron the pillow case to allow the paint to set.  I first ironed the back side of the pillow case that I did not paint, then I ironed the front painted side.  Make sure all of the lines are ironed.

To wash: turn pillow case inside out and machine wash using warm water on gentle cycle.
