For all lovers of DIY and crochet, this is a quick and easy way to make a unique necklace that will surely attract attention and make you stand out.

Supplies

  1. several plastic rings of different sizes ( I suggest you do some recycling like I did. My plastic rings were taken off the empty plastic bottles - milk, yoghurt, juice, mineral water)
  2. cotton yarn in colours of your choice ( I used white, navy blue and multi-colored 4 ply cotton yarn)
  3. crochet hook (depending on the yarn, in this case I used 2 mm crochet hook)
  4. double faced satin ribbon (20 mm wide, total length of 80 cm - cut into 2 pieces of 40 cm each) and optional small piece of bias-tape binding ribbon I used for making a small bow
  5. needle and thread to sew the ribbon and to connect the crochetted rings together

Using the yarn of your choice, crochet around the plastic rings to make the circle pieces of your necklace.

You can crochet several of them with single crochet stitch and several with double crochet stitich or 2 rows of single crochet stitch - in order to get the different volume of the circles.

Assembly

Now that your crochet circles are ready, it's time to decide in what order you want to connect them. Experiment and move them around until you are satisfied with the shape. Use the crochet hook to connect the circles by weaving in the loose ends or by sewing the circles together using needle and thread.

Attaching the Ribbon

The final step is to attach the satin ribbon (sew it in place with needle and thread) and other embelishments like small bows or beads.
