DIY Craft Sideboards, Media Units & TV Stands
A couple of month ago I moved in my own flat; I’m still excited because I think it’s a huge step in my adulthood and to celebrate this achievement I decided to furnish my little apartment all by myself.
I went in many flea market to buy stuff to decorate walls, my bedroom and all other rooms. What mostly worried my was finding something cheap and useful for the living room, though. I am not really a DIY type, but I was running out of money and I needed something where I could lean my laptop, tv, hi-fi system, without spending a fortune.
Why PlayWood?
Understood what my needs were, I decided to use wooden boards with a thickness between 16 and 19 cm (¾” and ⅞”) and PlayWood connectors 90°.
Since my apartment is extremely tiny and I love invite friends over and cook for them, I also needed something that could be easily transported, so I decided to use 4 wheels in order to have a portable consolle.
What Do I Need?
To sum up, for the realization of this DIY project, I used:
- 12 PlayWood Connectors 90°
- 2 fir layers board 40 x 30 cm - 15,75” x 11,81”
- 2 fir layers board 100 x 30 cm - 39,37” x 11,81”
- 1 fir layers board 100 x 40 cm - 39,37” x 15,75”
- 4 wheels Ø 5 cm
- 1 rubber band L 10 m - 32,80 ft
How Do I Build It?
Once I had the necessary, I assembled the consolle joining each wooden panel with another through the connector system PlayWood offers.
After that I obtained a rectangular shape: on the top of that I lean my devices; on the bottom I decided to create a sort of bookshelf for VCR, DVD and CDs.
In order to create this shelf, I drilled the side boards, making 4 holes, where I put the rubber band, so I created something pleasant and new.
After that I assembled the 4 wheels, one in each corner and in very few steps my sideboards was ready to be used and transported on demand.
What Are You Waiting For?
That’s the genius of the assembly system PlayWood offers: You are the designer of your furniture on the basis of your personal needs. I love it!
