DIY Cheap and Super Simple PEMF Magnetic Therapy Device

APH.jpg

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is a safe, and non-invasive way to reduce pain and inflammation. It can be used to supplement and enhance currently existing healthcare modalities.

Description

DIY cheap and super simple PEMF Magnetic Therapy device

In addition, PEMF therapy improves sleep, mental focus, and the body’s overall performance by helping the energy output and regeneration of the body’s cells.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that PEMFs are capable of:

Increasing circulation

Decreasing inflammation

Accelerating bone healing

Enhancing muscle function

Reducing the effects of stress

Improving blood oxygenation, and much more.

The construction of this device is based on commercial such devices that are sold at a price of several hundred to thousands of dollars. My goal is to make the simple to build and functional device available to more people who can not afford it.

For that purpose, I made the device completely from ready-made modules, so that its production requires only a basic knowledge of electronics and soldering. Thus the cost of the device without power supply does not exceed 10 dollars . It is extremly simple and consist only a few components:

- 19V Power supply from old Laptop computer

- Potentiometer

- MOSFET Trigger Switch Drive Module

- and small signal generator module

And now a few words about making the coil:
Depending on which part of the body we use the device, different coils can be made. They should have inductance of about 15 micro H. I made two different coils: one contains 200 winding copper wire(from 0.2 to 0.4 mm2) on an air core with a diameter of 17 cm ,and second for a stronger and focused magnetic field you can make a smaller diameter coil but you have the same impedance . For example, a 8 cm diameter coil should have approximately 300 windings. You can create a customized coil after calculations by coil calculator given oh the link below: https://www.66pacific.com/calculators/coil-inductance-calculator.aspx

It is important that the ohmic resistance of the coil should not be less than 4 ohms. Тhe intensity of the magnetic flux is approximately 20 Gaus.

I am not a medical person and I can not discuss the effect of the device, although I personally have many positive experiences from using it. I can also say with certainty that low frequency magnetic fields definitely have no negative impact, except in people where it is contraindicated(Pregnancy,Pacemakers, bleeding,Active tuberculosis,Malignancies). In fact, MRI imaging uses magnetic fields that are thousands of times stronger than those at PEMF and we all know that this imaging is completely harmless. Finally, the device is mounted in a suitable plastic box coated with self-adhesive wallpaper.
