DIY CARDBOARD KNIFE STAND

Last weekend, I saw myself staring at my mom's old Chinese knife, just sitting on the countertop looking bored. This massive blade that helps her cook incredible food in the kitchen, had no proper home where it could flaunt its beauty.
Thats when it struck me: Why not craft a knife stand entirely out of cardboard? It would be easy to build, eco-friendly, customizable and give the knife the attention it deserves - the main character vibe that its been missing while living among the rest of the cutlery.
Supplies

Supplies:
- Knife
- Cardboard
- Cutting Tool
- Superglue
- Pencil
- Paint (optional)
Just the things in your drawer
Create a CAD Model

We begin by creating an exact replica of our knife on Autodesk Fusion, using the import canvas feature. This model will help us visualize and design the stand according to dimensions.
Design the Custom Stand

Using our CAD model, we design the knife stand according to our preference. I have chosen this style of design as it turned out to be the easiest to build using cardboard, but you could also experiment with more complicated styles. I have also attached the .f3d below for reference

Lay Out the Components for Measurement

We lay each design component out flat to help us trace it on cardboard
Cut Out the Components

Using a cutting tool, we cut out the components onto the sheet of cardboard based on dimensions from our CAD model
Paint

(Optional) You can paint the components for aesthetic purposes (it looks cooler this way)
Final Assembly

Carefully put together each component and fix them together using superglue for added sturdiness
