DIY Book-making

I've always had a desire to have a selfmade notebook. Turn out it is relatively easy to do, all you need is some paper and sewing skills.

Supplies

  • Paper
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Liquid glue
  • Awl
  • Metal ruler
  • Something to bind the book with
  • Paper knife

First of all, fold the papers in half and stack into each other

Puncture three holes at each side of the middle paper: the first one one centimeter apart from the edge, second three centimeters apart and the third four centimeters from the edge

Thread the needle through the holes. After the first thread make a knot. Go through each hole at least for three times, then tie the thread off, cut it and to te same for the other side.

With the paper knife and a ruler cut of the paper edge so that it's equal

Cut out a piece of leather of suitable size to dress the book. Apply liquid glue to the paper and stick it to the leather.

Decorate your book. You can imprint symbols into leather f you make it wet. I made a small flower with sticky paper
