DIY Balance Board
With the start of the new year everyone is making all kinds of New Years resolutions. One that a lot of people are making is to get into shape and lose those extra pounds from Thanksgiving and Christmas. So just to switch it up instead of walking on a treadmill the whole time I decided to make a balance board. A balance board is good for core conditioning and strength along with preventing ankle and knee injures in the future.
What You Will Need:
Old skateboard that you can take apart
Old rolling pin
Crescent wrench
Phillips head screwdriver

Remove the Wheels
The first thing that you want to do is take your skateboard and flip it so that the wheels are on top. Now take your crescent wrench and place it on one of the 4 nuts that are on the first wheel that you want to take off. Then take your Phillips head screwdriver and on the top with the black grip tape find the screw that goes with the nut that you have your wrench on. Now twist and repeat this process on all 8 of the screws that are holding the two wheels on. You want to just have the skateboard deck after this step is done.
The Fulcrum
All that is left to do now is to lay your rolling pin down and your skateboard with no wheels on top. You can also use other things like a two liter bottle filled with water or a pvc pipe really anything hard and round could replace the rolling pin.
That is it you now have a DIY balance board that did not cost anywhere near the cost of going out and buying one. Enjoy!!!

Safety
Just with anything you have to take safety precautions to keep yourself from getting hurt. The first recommendation is to make sure that you have plenty of room around you so that if the board flies out from under you. You are not falling and hitting your head or breaking something. The other thing is to make sure you have a carpet under you which creates more friction and gives you more control while learning to use the balance board.
