Walls and Roof

To build the walls, place two pallets side by side and join them together using a small piece of pallet wood or a 2x4 at the joints. Stack the pallets to make the walls two pallets high.

For the roof, use the same method: join two pallets together. This will create a roof approximately 8 feet wide, with about a 1-foot overhang on each side. I used some OSB board for the ceiling because I plan to install cedar shake shingles on top.

Drop Off Door

Once the walls are up, cut some slats from the pallet to create a small opening for the drop-off door. I made the sliding door from an old cupboard door. With the back of the drop off door angled at 120 degrees, the door hinge is positioned at the base. This way, when you pull the door handle, the drop-off door lies flat, allowing packages to be placed on it. As you close the door, the package slides into the box inside the shed. (see sketch of the drop box schematic)

Siding and Shingles

For the siding, I used white vinyl to cover up the uneven-looking pallet boards, giving the shed a clean, finished appearance from the outside. The shingles are made from cedar logs that I split to create cedar shake shingles. When installing, overlap the shingles by about half to ensure water runs off the roof properly.
