DIY Acrylic Sheet Bending Tool
This DIY Acrylic Sheet Bending Tool is made for Acrylic sheet width up to 30 cm and made with few plywood, limit switch etc.
Basic Operation
Nichrome wire is an alloy made from nickel and chromium. It resists heat and oxidation and serves as a heating element in products such as toasters and hair dryers.
As shown in the picture we can calculate the required voltage and current from the formula based on wire temperature.
Closeup of Nichrome Wire Expansion
Nichrome Wire expands as it heats-up. I have added spring in one end of the wire to expand as shown in the video.
Construction
As shown in the picture 4 plywood's are used and screwed together. A limit switch acts as a ON/OFF mechanism as the Acrylic sheet placed on the bender.
I have used PC ATX power supply to supply the required current.
Now it's ready to use.
