DIY 3D Paint Window Cling
These instructions will show you the simple steps to creating fun puffy paint window clings. This project is something that can be used as decoration or create a learning opportunity.
I have made and brought these window clings with me to hotels to put on the sliding glass door to prevent unintentional accidents. Numbers and letters can be made and used as a learning tool.
Collecting Your Supplies
The First Thing you will need to do is gather your supplies. You will need some sort of 3d paint in your desired colors. A clear Ziploc bag to place your design in and pen and paper.
Drawing Your Design
At the point you can decide whether to draw, trace or print your design. The Design in the image was traced by placing the piece of paper on a glass screen laptop and tracing.
Suggestion: Make sure the design will have a simple shape once complete.
Adding Your Paint
Place your work of art in a Ziploc bag and begin to add the paint. Be sure to use a generous amount of paint for stability when peeling.
Suggestion: Work based on which hand you are using, If you are a lefty apply your paint from right to left. This will prevent accidental smudging.
Filling in Everything
Before putting your work to dry, make sure there are no gaps in the paint. This will help for preventing ripping when you peel your window clings from the Ziplocs.
Let Them Dry and Enjoy!
The paint will take about 6 hours to completely dry and set. Once it is done drying, you will be able to easily peel your window clings from the Ziploc and put them on your window!
A little bit of parchment paper will make storing these when not on the window easy.
I hope you give this a try and let me know how it goes!
