This is a DAC geology research droid, this particular droid is named DAC-8. The droid has a friendly, easy-going personality, a height of 8 inches and often works with a single researcher. The droid starts off with a selected area of rock to be examined, and lands using its lower jet and the two jets on the "wings" section. Then the droid drops it's stabilizing legs, and inserts one of it's mining lasers into a fixture on it's head. The lasers vary by size and all are stored in front of the droid's body, where it is selected by it's arm stored above the core. After a sample is cut out using small movements from the laser, the droid will twist it's core and insert it into it's microscope to be analyzed. The droid's databank will figure out the exact compound that material is and project it on it's holo-emitter for the researcher to view. If the samples need to be taken in a hazardous area, a grouping of droids can build a collective AI brain that responds to a central controller, where it then passes the information. Multiple droids can also build a rough 3D map that includes scans of particular resources and potential hazards.

When a researcher gets a droid, they are expected to perform basic programing for what geology the droid is looking for and full properties of resources in the designated area. However this step can be optional if the droid has access to the holonet in the research area. Unknown samples will be remembered and once the droid has access to the holonet, it will immediately start analyzing using all existing information. Personalities are also expected to be programmed to the user's liking if the droid is the only researcher's company. Lasers can be replaced with drill bits or other hardware for heat sensitive rocks. The jets can be swapped out for repulsorlifts in areas where that can be an inconvenience. Extensive sensors can also be modded in the droid if the researcher needs particular requirements for breathing or radiation.

I've been a Star Wars fan since I was eight years old. In fact, Star Wars inspired me to be a Robotics Engineer, and I am currently working through my first year of college. I've been trying to build my own, functional BD-1 for the past few years. It would be a great honor to work at Lucasfilm one day. I'm new to Fusion, but I am very fluent in Tinkercad.

*Please note that the zip files provided didn't work with my Fusion app. I researched ways to fix this but support help would be needed, instead I used a background file provided and converted it to PDF using my computer. The background was then applied to a 3D block using a decal. This background was not converted using any third party applications.
