D4E1 - Custom Handle Sleeves Pattern for Different Handles
This instructable shows how to start making a pattern for different types of handles. This is only a guide on how to start, you probably have to try multiple times to perfect your pattern if the handle has a special shape. The making of the sleeves is explained in another instructable https://www.instructables.com/Custom-Walker-Handle-Sleeves/.
Supplies
- Handles
- Paper tape
- Cutter knife
- Pen / marker
- Paper
Pull the handle of the walker.
Cover the whole handle with tape.
Draw the line(s) you want to cut. It's best to cut on top of protrusions.
Cut the tape open
Try to lay the pattern flat on the paper.
Draw around the tape.
Choose a spot with enough space for the velcro. (+-2cm) Draw a line in the middle. This is where you have to cut this pattern piece for the velcro. This way you can open and close the sleeve.
For the closed end of the pattern you just need to measure then end of the handle and add 2cm for the diameter of the circle you have to use for the pattern. Draw this circle on the paper.
Go to the instructable for custom walker handles and follow those steps with your own pattern. https://www.instructables.com/Custom-Walker-Handle-Sleeves/
