D-1 Ball Droid (nickname-Rollers)

The D-1 Ball Droid was inspired by a tool box I made that is in the shape of a cylinder so it can roll. I created a ball shape droid with various sensors and repair arms/tools. I nicknamed it "Rollers". I think the in-universe explanation for this droid would be that it was originally used by the empire to do computer maintenance/diagnostics and speedy repairs on their capital ships, but was quickly phased out in favor of other droid units such as astromechs. Even though they were extremely smart in making a ship run, they weren't as trusted as traditional repair droids. Although it has never been confirmed, some say that the D-1's design later inspire the BB series. Now, as far as the D-1 goes, they are praised by smugglers and pirates for their computing powers and excellent repair work on almost any ship. Their brains make them extremely loyal, but a little stuck up when it comes to ship maintenance. Overall, most D-1's are said to be happy and Cheerful like a good friend.
