This is a cute hat I made for my son.
It fits 12 to 18 months old kids.
Its a great project for keeping your kid warm and also entertained (Because my son started to make sheep noises as soon as he started to wear the hat. :) Baaah.

Supplies
Fleece fabric
-White (for inside layer)
Brown(for the horns)
Purple and pink (for the eyelids)
Black(for the nose)
Polyester fiber pillow stuffing(For stuffing the horns)
Thread spool
White Sherpa fur(could be replaced with cozy fleece)
Tools:
Scissors
Ball Pins
Hand sewing needles
Sewing machine
Marker
Inside Layer
I started with the inside layer first because fleece fabric is much easier to sew than fur.
Start by folding the piece in half and sew the open left and right sides.
Next you will close the hole cut in the top(v notch)
Now open the piece and fold the v notch so the bottom of the v becomes the start and the end of the final stitch.
Furry Layer
Place the Sherpa fur on its wrong side (not fuzzy side)and trace the pattern with a marker.
It is a good idea to use ball pins to secure the fabric pieces together because fur is really hard to sew on the sewing machine.
Remove the pins as the fabric is entering under the sewing machine pressor foot.
Repeat the seams you made in the previous step.
Completing the Main Piece of the Hat
Turn the inside layer of the hat so the stitch faces to the inside.
Place it inside the furry layer. The fur needs to face to the inside and the seam of the furry layer needs to face to the outside. Be sure the pieces are touching front to front and back to back.
Secure all around the edge with ball pins .
Leave a one inch hole in the back so you can turn the hat inside out.
Sew .
Turn the piece inside out .
Push the fleece layer to the inside .
Sew shut the hole you left for turning inside out.
Ears
The ears need to be sewn on a larger piece of fur and fleece. This is because small parts can be difficult to sew on the sewing machine sometimes.
Place the stretch of the fabric perpendicular to the ear. This is because if the stretch is placed the other way the ears will get longer with time .
Cut the excess after sewing .
Ear Turning
Turn the ears inside out and fold in two at the base.
Sew shut the base of the ear .
Nose
Use a running stitch and weave in and out of the fabric making small stitches all around a black fleece circle.
Push a ball of stuffing in the middle of the circle and pull on the thread ends. This will close the circle to form a ball.
Make the eyeballs the same way.
Eyelids
For the top eyelid use two strips of fleece.
Sew them together. Next you need to offset the stitch by 1 cm . The bottom of the eyelid will be the fold of the fabric. This will form a line on the front side of the eyelid.
Trace and sew removing the excess fabric afterwards .
For the bottom eyelid use a single color of fleece.
Turning the Eyelids
Make a small snip in the back of the eyelid and turn inside out. Make sure not to snip the second layer also.
In the case of the top eyelid make the snip on the single color side.
After turning all the pieces sew close all the snips.
Ladder Stitch
Ladder Stitch /Invisible stitch.
The ladder stitch is a hand sewn stitch. It is used to make invisible stitches when you are sewing in front of your fabric. Start by hiding the knot in the seam allowance or under a detail you are adding . Take a stitch on one side of the fabric parallel to the edge (B C) Take a stitch on the other side of the fabric, parallel to the edge (D E) Continue across seam, forming a series of stitches that look like a ladder. Pull thread tight to close seam and hide stitches inside.
Eyeball and Pupil
To make the eyeball repeat the steps used to make the nose.
Place a small black circle on top and sew using a ladder stitch.
Be careful to make small stitches .If not ,the edge might look a little wavy .
Eye Assembly
Place the eyelids on top of the eyeball making sure the pupil is facing to a side. Make the other eye symmetrical to the first.
You need to place the pupil to the side because the eyes will sit on a round thing. Placing the pupil in the middle means that the sheep will be cross-eyed
Sew the corners of the bottom lid first.
Overlap the corners of the top eyelid on the corners of the bottom one and sew.
Make a stitch on the middle back side of the eyelid securing it to eyeball. This will keep the lids in place and ensure the eyeball does not pop out. :)
Horns
Mark the horn pattern on a piece of brown fleece fabric.
Remember to turn each pattern piece to the other side when doing the markings for the second horn.
Connect all pieces using ball pins and sew.
Turn inside out and fill with pillow stuffing.
Pin Pin Pin
Secure all pieces in place using ball pins .
Sew all pieces using a ladder stitch .
