This is how I painted a Warhammer Space Marines Redemptor in a Dark Angels style. Sorry I could not upload all the pictures for the steps, I have tried to make it as detailed as possible without them.

Supplies

Citadel Paints, pliers and plastic glue.

Prime

Once I finished putting together the model, I went over it with a coat of Citadel Chaos Black Primer.

Once the primer was dry I added two base coats around the armoured parts of the model with a coat of Caliban Green, a base coat of Mephiston Red to the majority of the weapon and the missiles and a base coat of Runefang Steel to the joints, nails and other un-armoured parts.

Dry Brushing

To dry brush for each colour I dipped by paintbrush in a mix of that colour and a bit of white, dabbed it onto tissue till dry and dabbed on the model in where that area has that colour. Dry brushing helps to show the dips, curves, corners and other places where it will catch on.

Smaller Details

I then went over the smaller details with a detail brush, around the logo and insignia with Wraithbone and the ammunition with white and Aethermatic Blue.

Shading

Next, I went over the metallic parts and armour with a coat of Nuln Oil and the lighter colours with Agrax Earthshade, this helps to bring out the layers and also make it look more weathered.

Lines

To finish the model; I used that same small detailed brush's edge to highlight the lines on the armoured parts. This makes the model look much sleeker.

The Base

Finally, for the base, I used Astrogranite for texture and a white dry brush to make it look more rock like.
