Custom Gym Bag

This Instructable shows how to put a zipper pocket with lining onto a gym bag, as well as how to customize it with vinyl lettering and embroidery!

cut cloth to 2 inches wider than the zipper length and twice the depth of the desired pocket

Line up the center where the zipper should be and trace the zipper along the path, drawing an equilibrial triangle at either end 1/2 inch from the edge along with a line across the middle lengthwise.. Sew along the outer edge and cut the inner lines along with the sides of the triangle as shown.

Flip the pocket inside and iron down so none of the pocket is showing, it should all be within the material.

Place the zipper inside and sew along the edge of the zipper, securing the zipper to the edge of the pocket and bag material.

Flip the bag inside out and sew along the edges of the pocket to close it. You are now done with this step!

Using the vinyl cutter, heat press vinyl onto the bag in desired location

Using the embroidery machine, embroider where desired with intended lettering and colors. You are now done customizing your bag!
