Custom Flower Basket
Many people love to decorate their house with flowers, but sadly, they always die. Buying flowers at the store are also so expensive. This craft can be made for only a few dollars! So, let's get into it!
Supplies
You will need:
- Pink and red tissue paper
- Cut up pipe cleaners (Green recommended)
- Scissors
- Tape
- Pen
- Basket
- String
- Paper (Optional)
- Markers (Optional)
- Crayons (Optional)
- Paint (Optional)
The crayons, markers, and paint are all art supplies. I just listed 3 you could use but, you can use any!
Step 1: Making the Flowers
For this step, get your pipe cleaners, scissors, and tissue paper. What you'll do is cut the pipe cleaners so you have mini ones. This will be easier to attach to the basket. Fold your flowers into any shape or form you'd like. I am doing a rose shape but you can do your own style. This step is up to your crafty mind to decide.
How to make the flowers I have:
Fold a piece of tissue paper in half like a hotdog, then do the same thing again. Roll it up in a way like the picture listed. Then, push the paper down and you'll have something that looks like the picture shown. Stick in a pipe cleaner, tape it, and repeat until you have all the flowers you desire. If any tape is visible right now, no worries! It won't be shown later on :)
Step 2: Flowers and Basket
For this step, you'll need the completed flowers from step 1, your basket, and your tape. Align the flowers around the basket rim inside. When you have them where you like them, tape them there so they don't move or put them at the bottom of the basket clumped up together. I personally think clumping them together looks prettier. Especially since the tape doesn't show. Now you have the basics of your basket! Congrats!
Step 3: Optional Decoration
For this step, you'll need string, paper, scissors, and markers/crayons/paint. Take your string and tie it to the basket handle. Double knot it for extra security. Next, cut the paper into a small square and also cut a little hole for the string. Tie it on and then make sure it's secure. Lastly, write a little note on it if you want to give it to someone! Congratulations! You've completed the basket! Follow my account at Steff_Steff for more crafts and ideas like this!
