Decoration!

If you want to add some decoration, you can crochet the base a little differently. When you are done with the single crocheting all the way around, you can follow these directions.

Find a piece of ribbon and wrap it around your pencil holder. To hold it in place, you can hot glue it or use any other type of glue. To make it look cuter, you can tie a bow out of the ribbon and hot glue it to the pencil holder.

Also you can put pom-poms on the top of pencils or pens by wrapping yarn around your fingers 50 or more times and then tying the middle of the ball you formed with another piece of yarn. Trim the pom-pom until it looks like a pom-pom.
