Hello, my name is Evangelina, and I LOVE my cat and dog. And today i’m going to show you guys how to make a collar with a bow for your dog (Or whatever pet you have.) So let’s get started!!!

Supplies

For this project you will need:

  • Yarn (I’m using Charisma Dark Purple and Electric blue)
  • A crochet hook that matches the size of your yarn (For me it’s 8.0mm or L11)
  • Your pet
  • A little bit of crocheting skills

Measure Your Pets Neck

What I did is, I got a piece of yarn, then put it around my dogs loosely. But you can do whatever works for you! Then I cut the yarn at where the measurement was, and used a ruler to measure the yarn I cut. For me it was 49 cm.

First, chain four, then single crochet until the collar reaches the length of your pet’s neck’s measurement. After that connect the two sides to make a collar. Then finish it of by weaving in the tails. (The first picture is the finished collar with no bow, and the second one is the collar folded with no bow.)

(You can always change the measurements, like if you have a rabbit then you can chain two or three instead of four.)

Now get your other colour, for me that is dark purple, now chain three. Single crochet three rows, but don’t finish it. Now take your first colour, and chain six. Single crochet eleven rows then finish that piece by weaving in the tails. Then get the piece that you didn’t finish, pinch the centre of the second piece (the blue one) and put the first piece (the purple one) around the second one, and crochet the two sides of the first piece to each other. Finish that by sewing the purple part to the blue part.

Attaching the Two

Sew the bow on to the collar where the stitches are.

Put It on Your Pet
