Row 2- Chain 1, turn sc in each sc across.
Rows 3/5- Repeat row 2

At the end of row 5 chain not 1, but 7 extra stitches

Row 6 - Sc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across - 12 stitches

At the end of row 6 chain not 1, but 7 extra stitches

Row 7- Sc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across - 18 stitches

Row 13 - Chain 1, turn sc in next 6 sc, leaving 6 sc – 6 stitches.
Row 14 - Chain 1, turn sc in each sc across.
Rows 15/17- Repeat row 14.

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

You should now have a cross shaped crochet patch. Fold this into a 5-sided box and crochet the sides shut.

The “ears”

Make 2 of these.
Use a 3mm crochet hook and red yarn.

Round 1- Make a magic circle with 5 sc.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Sew them onto the sides of the head.

The “antennas”

Use some black yarn for this.

Fasten the end somewhere inside the head, so you can come out in the middle of one of the ears. Now twist the yarn by holding up the end with the needle and turning the head. Twist it tightly and then fold it at the desired lenght. It should now coil up. Stick the rest of the yarn back inside the head.

Repeat this at the other ear.

Put it all together

Fill the head and sew it onto the body. Use some red and black yarn to embroider the face.

Finally place it into the egg-shell.

Put It All in a Box

SAM_0444.JPG
All you need to do now is find a nice egg box to put everything into.I only made one of each so a small egg box was fine for this instructable.

You can, ofcourse, make as many eggs, chicks and robots as you like. Go nuts and fill an entire egg tray!

Either way, have fun.
