A crochet owl hood/hat. I made it because i wanted it and couldn't find anything exactly like it. I added triangular wholes to mimic owl feathers and also crocheted in feathers in the top for the horns and plaited them into the tassels which are about two feet long and made to blend in to my hair, they can also be tied. I originally was going for a look similar to Finn from adventure time.  pictures are as follows:   me in hat  ,  front  ,  back  ,  tassels ,  close up of tassels

I am a freehand crocheter, haha, and I don't remember exact counts but here is more detail. I would advise you to figure your own counts to your head so if thirty stitches fits 1/3 the way around your head that's about right. I started with five rows of standard stitches then a row of double stitches then two rows of standard then i make the triangles by using standard stitches but only landing every 12 or so then another row of standard stitches picking up the middle of each non landed section of the last row to create the triangles. I kept going with this pattern set until i had a fat rectangle that when folded over would fit my forehead to the nape of my neck. Then i made the sides, connecting the edges of the rectangle with rows of increasing double stitches until i reached the bottom where i finished it and added the tassels made by plaiting 8 pieces of yarn. :)
