Hi everyone ! Here I have an original mini Instructables robot pattern, which includes instruction on how to make your very own instructables robot buddy! For my robot I used embroidery thread so that it would be mini but the size depends on the yarn you use.

Here are the abbreviations of the stitches I used :
Sc: single crochet

Inc: increase

Dc: double crochet

Dec: decrease

BLO: back loop only

Supplies

  • 1.75 mm crochet hook
  • Yellow, red, light grey, dark grey, and black embroidery thread
  • Small yarn needle or normal needle for sewing
  • Black, red, and dark grey paint and a paint brush
  • Stuffing
  • A glue gun

*Use yellow embroidery thread for this part

The front and back pieces of the body:

Start by making a chain of 8

R1-R7. Sc in the 7 stitches for a total of 7 rows so that you have a square

Then make 1 more so you have 2 pieces

The sides of the body:

Start by making a chain of 6

R1-R7. Sc in the 5 stitches for a total of 7 rows (you should have a thin rectangle piece)

Make 3 more so that you have 4 pieces

Once you have made all 6 pieces sew the 4 rectangle pieces around 1 of the square pieces and then sew the other square piece on top but flip it inside out and stuff it before you completely close the piece.

Making the Head

Making the Arms and Hands

*Use yellow and light grey embroidery thread for this part

First use the yellow embroidery thread to make the arms:

R1. Make a magic ring with 6 stitches (6)

R2. Sc, inc around the 6 stitches (9)

R3-R6. sc in the 9 stitches for a total of 4 rows (9)

Turn your work and sc in 4 of the 9 stitches and fasten off

I didn't choose to stuff it but if you do stuff it at this part.

Then make one more

Now use the grey embroidery thread to make the hands:

R1. Make a magic ring with 7 stitches (7)

R2. sc in the 7 stitches (7)

Then fasten off and you could stuff it now if you want.

Then make one more

Once you have two arms and two hands sew a hand to each arm and then sew the finished arms to the body.

To attach the wheels to the body cut two small piecs of wire and close each of their two ends into a U shape. Then attach the wheels to the wire and secure them with glue. Then glue the wire with the wheel to the leg and sew the legs to the body.

To finish off your robot you can paint on all the added pieces like the eyes and the body pieces, or you can use felt or crochet these pieces, but I chose to paint these details as shown in the images above.

For the mouth and forehead line use the black embroidery thread to sew them on.

Once you have added all your final touches you have an adorable mini robot pal to show off and enjoy :)
