1. Chain 34 (or however long you want +2)

2. Go back two loops from the hook, and HDC until the end of the chain.

3. Chain 2, turn, and HDC in the back loops only. (start at the end of the last row, NOT the chain 1 or 2)

4. Continue until the fabric fits all the way around your head. (knot to end)

5. Cut a long strand of yarn connected to the hat, and thread it through the needle.

6. Stitch the rectangle up, and it should make a cylinder. (tip: stitch it on the side you don't want to see)

7. Put the needle around the top loops, and cinch it closed.

8. Turn it inside out, and sew the pom pom on.

9. Roll up the brim and you're done!!

Pom Pom

1. Trace a circle (however big you want your pom pom) onto some thin cardboard. x2

2. Trace a slightly smaller circle inside of the bigger one. x2

3. Cut out the circles, and cut out the smaller ones WITH a cut, so it's not a full circle.

4. Cut out a small gap, so there is room to wrap the yarn.

5. Put the 2 together and make sure it's even.

6. Wrap the yarn around until there is a big mass of wrapped yarn.

7. Slightly separate the cardboard, and cut all the way around.

8. Put a piece of yarn into the gap, and tie it around.

9. Cut the pom pom until it is nice and circular.

10. Done!
