Supplies

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Stripes (Color: Country)

Hook 5.5 mm (I)Scissors, Yarn Needle, Stitch Marker (optional)

Difficulty Level EASY

Finished Size 6 inches by 6 inches

Gauge
approximately 3 sts per inch and 7 rows per 4 inches (1.8)

Abbreviations

  • US Terminology used
  • beg – beginning
  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • R – row/round
  • RS – right side (aka as the ‘pretty side’ of your work)
  • rem – remaining
  • rep – repeat
  • sc – single crochet
  • sk – skip
  • sl st – slip stitch
  • st/sts – stitch/stitches
  • * – Repeat the instructions between the asterisks the number of times indicated. This repeat will contain of multiple instructions.
  • () – Repeat the instructions between the parentheses the number of times indicated.
  • [] – at the end of the row – the total number of stitches

R1: Ch 20, begin in back bump of 4th ch from the hook and work 2 dc in the ch, sk 1 ch, *2 dc in the next ch, sk 1 ch**. Rep from * to ** across to the last ch. 1 dc in the last ch. Turn. [18]

Row 2:

Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk the next dc. Work 2 dc in the sp between the sk dc and the next dc. *Sk the next 2 dc; 2 dc in the sp between the last sk dc and the next dc**. Rep from * to ** across to the final 2 sts. Sk 1 dc and work 1 dc in the top of the ch 3. Turn. [18]
