Crochet Ruffle Scrunchie!

Scrunchies! I love scrunchies and you could find me at any time of the day with at least one or two ( or three! ) on my wrist or in my hair! These crochet scrunchies are perfect gifts to friends or to yourself, they take only a small amount of time and are a great stash buster. You can add in as many colors as you want during the three quick rounds, so get creative! I hope you enjoy this pattern, and if you make one, please share! Have fun!

Supplies

Materials:
• Worsted yarn ( I prefer cotton for this, but acrylic will work fine!)
• A G size crochet hook ( 4.25mm )
• A hair elastic
• Scissors
• A darning needle

US TERMINOLOGY
Skill level: advanced beginner :)
Start by making a slip knot and putting it on your hook, then place your hook under the side on the elastic and wrap the yarn around your hook, bring it from under the side of the elastic and single crochet on the elastic.
Now single crochet around the whole elastic, occasionally pushing back your single crochets so you can add more ( just enough to make it ruffle! )
When you think you have enough, just slip stitch into the first single crochet.

Double Crochet Increases

Chain 3
Double crochet into the same stitch as you chain, then continue to add two double crochets in each stitch around.
At the end of the round crochet into the place you chained and slip stitch into the first double crochet.

Half Double Crocheting

Weaving in Your Ends!

Take your darning needle and start sewing in your ends into the back of your work, cutting off the excess once you've seen in a good amount of the yarn.

And there you have it! I hope you enjoy making these and if you have any questions I'd be happy to help! Have a great day!
