Crochet Rose Bookmark

Want to gift your loved ones a gift with personal touch. This is a crochet patter for beginner level. It is quiet simple.

I gifted this bookmark for my husband on his Birthday. He loves reading.

These roses are super easy and work up quickly.

Terminology:

Sc – Single Crochet
Dc – Double Crochet

Ch – Chain

Sl St - Slip stitch

Tc - Triple crochet

Materials:

Yarn – green, maroon

Crochet Hook – 4 mm

Needle

Thread

Leaving a 10” length for sewing, chain 57.

Row 1 :In sixth chain from hook, double crochet, chain
two, double crochet, *chain 2, skip next 2 chains, then double crochet, chain two, double crochet in next chain; repeat from * across.

Row 2: Chain 3, turn, 5 double crochet in first
chain-2 space, single crochet in next chain-2 space, (6 double crochet in next chain-2 space, single crochet in next chain-2 space), 5 times. (With your beginning chain 3 and 5 double crochet “shell” you will have a total of 6 of these shells. Then (9 double crochet in the next chain-2 space, single crochet in next chain-2 space), 5 more times (you will have a total of 11 shells made). Then 12 double crochet in the next chain-2 space, single crochet in the next chain-2 space, across until complete.

Finish off leaving several inches for sewing and tying.

To form rose start with right side facing, and beginning with first petal made, roll your petals, sewing as you go.

Chain 9.

Row 1: Beginning in 2nd chain from hook, work the following stitches to the end of the row.
sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc,hdc, hdc, sc.

Chain 1, and turn.

Beginning in 2nd chain from hook, work the following stitches to the end of the row:
sc, hdc, hdc, dc, dc, hdc, hdc, sc. Fasten off.

Make 3 leaves in the same way.

First wind threads you like around a thick paper.
Cut one end of the threads. Now remove it from the paper and lay them straight.
Tie a knot two time at the middle. This will form the end that will be used to tie it to the crochet work. Now take another thread and at a small distance below tie a knot. Insert the crochet hook into the knot and bring down both the ends. They will now be a part of the tassel.

Ch 15. This will for the stem.

Sew the leaves, rose, stem and tassle together with green thread.
