Crochet Ridged Rainbow Ripple Blanket

Are you looking out for a quick Crochet Blanket Pattern that looks appealing and delightful to whip up? Then look no further. Here is a Pretty pattern for Crochet Ridged Rainbow Ripple Blanket that works up quickly and the finished blanket looks. The blanket is made with crochet ripple stitch. I love working up this stitch. The ripple stitch gives a smooth wavy look .It's a basic stitch which looks great on other crochet projects like scarves , afghans, Crochet pillows , Table runners and many more.

The Textured Ridged looks of the blanket comes by working only in the Back loops. The pattern uses only Double Crochet stitches and it's a One Row Repeat Pattern which makes it even more fun to work with. This blanket is super versatile as regards to color coding. I used cake yarn for the Blanket. I love how the color change stripes happen with these cake yarns. You could make yours with Solid Colors too. Get creative and make it with your imagination to match it up to any occasion.

Round 2:-

1 Double Crochet in the Second Chain from the hook.

1 Double Crochet each in the next Three Stitches.

1 Double Crochet Decrease each in the next Two Stitches.

1 Double Crochet each in the next Three Stitches.

2 Double Crochets each in the next Two Stitches.

Repeat(1DC*3 ,DC Decrease*2 ,1DC*3 ,2DC*2) in the remaining stitches.

You will have 1 Stitch left after making the last set of 1DC*3.

2 Double Crochets in the last stitch.

Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-

Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .

  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first Back Loop stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.

How to Make a Double Crochet Decrease....????:-

  • Start the Decrease , same as a Double Crochet. But Do not finish the Double Crochet. i.e. Yarn over and Pull up a loop , Pull through first 2 loops -2 loops on the hook.
  • Yarn over, place hook in next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops - 3 loops on hook
  • Yarn over, pull yarn through all 3 loops.
  • That's One Double Crochet Decrease made.
