OR make a magic ring and make 7 dc; join with sl st in first dc.

Round 2: 1ch, 2 dc in ea dc around,  Place hook in top of 1st dc. Drop brown yarn and make a sl st with yellow yarn.  (14 dc)

(crochet color change is seen at this site. You can tie off the 2 color yarns and/or weave in the ends.) http://www.anniesattic.com/crochet/content.html?content_id=49&type_id=S

Round 3: With yellow yarn, working in front loops only (FLO) on this round proceed thus:

1ch, dc into same ch as joining ch, 6 ch, dc into same st. *dc into next dc, 6 ch, dc into same dc*, rep from * to * all around, do not join, 14 petals.

Row 4 Working behind the first row of petals and into back loops only (BLO) of round 2, *dc into next st, 8 ch, dc into same dc, rep from * all around but leave last 2 back loops unworked (you will attach leaves here), join with a sl st. Fasten off.

 Use F hook. Ch 8.

Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch.

Do not fasten off but start next leaf: ch 8

Repeat Row 1.  Fasten off   with a long tail (at least 6 inches)

Step 7: Attach Pins to the Back of the Sunflower

Step 7: Attach pins to back of the Sunflower.

Use the tail of yarn with yarn needle to attach the leaves behind the 2 missing back loop petals on the sunflower.

Attach the two pin backs to the back of the sunflower. Place them so that the sunflower will be secure on the bag.
