If you are on a hunt for a cute crochet project for this Easter, then look no forward. Here is a super cute idea for making a Bunny themed crochet basket.

Today am sharing the pattern for this fun and cute Crochet Mini Easter Egg Bunny Basket. These tiny crochet baskets are quick and very easy to finish and they would be awesome for your Easter Decorations and to fill them up with surprise Easter treats. You could whip up a few baskets in not time at all and they will make great gifts for the little ones, family, friends and your loved ones.

Notes:-

For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 for Base and the Starting Chain 1 for the Sides of the Basket is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

How to Crochet Mini Easter Egg Bunny Basket

Round 1:-

Start with a Magic Circle.

12 Double Crochets in the circle.

Pull the yarn end to close the gap.

Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

12 Stitches.

Round 2:-

Chain 2.

2 Double Crochets in each stitch around.

Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.

24 stitches.

Turning Base:-

Start with Chain 1.(Not Counted as a stitch).

1 Single Crochet in the Back Loop.

1 Single Crochet each in the Back Loop of the remaining stitches.

Slip Stitch on top of the first Single Crochet . Make the slip stitch in both the loops.

Sides of the Basket - Step 1:-

Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch)

1 Single Crochet in the same stitch.

1 Long Single Crochet or Spike Stitch as it is called in the next stitch.

Repeat(1 SC, 1 Long SC).

Slip stitch on top of the first stitch.

How to Make a Long Single Crochet...?

  • Long Single Crochet or the Single Crochet Spike stitch is same as a Single Crochet, but instead of inserting the hook in the current row stitch, Insert your hook into the stitch which is one row below the current row stitch.
  • Yarn Over, pull up a loop that is the same height as your current row stitch. 
  • Pull through both loops.
  • This is One Long Single Crochet stitch complete.

Sides of the Basket - Step 2:-

Chain 1(Not Counted as a stitch)

1 Long Single Crochet or Spike Stitch as it is called in the same stitch.

1 Single Crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat(1 Long SC, 1 SC).

Slip stitch on top of the first stitch.

Keep Increasing the Sides of the Basket:-

Keep Repeating  Step 1 and Step 2 untill you reach the size needed.

Just remember to:-

  • Chain 1 at the start of each round. This won't be counted as a stitch.
  • Keep alternating the starting stitch of each round.
  • If the Starting stitch is a Long Single Crochet , then start the round with a single crochet and vice versa.
  • Slip stitch to end round.

Bunny Ears:-

*Chain 10

1 Double Crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook.

1 Double Crochet in each of the remaining stitches.

Join it to the basket with 1 Single Crochet*(see to it that it is the front facing)

1 Single Crochet in the next stitch

Repeat from * to * for the second ear.

Border:-

Chain 1

1 Half Double Crochet, 1 Slip Stitch in the same stitch.

Repeat((1 HDC, 1 SL) - in the same stitch.) in each of the remaining stitches.

Slip stitch at the end and weave off the yarn ends.
