When it comes to adding a handmade touch and elegance to table decor, the Crochet Placemats , Table Runners and Coasters have always been a favorite choice among many. Crocheting Holiday Themed Crochet Projects is always fun and instantly gets you into the festive mood. Fall is such a colorful season and those beautiful fall colors are a great inspiration for many Fall and Autumn Crochet Projects.
Today am sharing the pattern for Crochet Iris Autumn Table Runner. This is a beautifully textured lacy stitch pattern which is very easy to make. The iris stitch is a beautiful variation to the Double Crochet V-stitch. The only difference is the Chain 1 which is made instead of the usual Chain 2 as in the Double Crochet V Stitch. This creates the lovely lacy effect. Its a one row repeat pattern and this stitch is perfect to making airy scarves and shawls.

In the 5th Chain from the hook make - (2 Double Crochets, Chain 1 , 2 Double Crochets)-all in the same stitch. This makes 1 Iris Stitch.

Skip 3.
Repeat(2DC,Ch1,2DC),Sk3)
1 Double Crochet in the last Stitch.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
- Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
- Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
- Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
- Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
- Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
- This will make one Double Crochet.
Round 3:-
**This Round Onwards we will be working only into the Chain 1 Spaces from the Previous round.
(2 Double Crochets, Chain 1, 2 Double Crochets) into each of the Chain 1 spaces(i.e.in between the set of 2 Double Crochets)
1 Double Crochet in the last Stitch.
Once you reach end, Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning Chain method mentioned in the previous Round to make the Turning Chain.
Round 4 Onwards:-
Keep Repeating Round 3 untill the size needed and Weave off.
