Hi guys! Good afternoon =)
In today's Instructable, I wanna share with you, the pattern to make this basic Crochet Heart.
In case that you are looking the smaller version of this design, you can find its Instructable HERE.

- Crochet Hook (D3)
- Yarn (sport weight yarn)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle (pointless)
Gauge
![gauge 04.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FFY/0LLQ/IKR7LPUH/FFY0LLQIKR7LPUH.png&filename=gauge 04.png)
The heart that you saw at the beginning of the tutorial, was 1.4 inches long and wide. In my case, I used a D3 hook and a sport weight yarn. If you use this type of hook and yarn, in 2 inches you should have 9 stitches.
2" = 9 stitches
Chart / Pattern

To make this heart, in a magic ring, we are going to work three chain stitches.
Now, for the first half:
- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Double Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Treble Crochet
- Three Double Crochet
- One Treble Crochet and a chain stitch to finish the first half.
For the second half:
- One Treble Crochet
- Three Double Crochet
- One Half Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Double Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- Three Chain stitches and a slip stitch.
Step by Step: FIRST HALF
![vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h36m16s262.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/F7I/F59D/IKR7LQY0/F7IF59DIKR7LQY0.png&filename=vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h36m16s262.png)
To begin with this heart, the first thing that we have to do, it’s a Magic Ring, which is a basic technique whose Instructable is HERE.
Step by Step: FIRST HALF
![vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h40m30s168.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FYS/N4R2/IKR7LRAO/FYSN4R2IKR7LRAO.png&filename=vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h40m30s168.png)
![vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h40m59s838.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FR0/P8MV/IKR7LRB1/FR0P8MVIKR7LRB1.png&filename=vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h40m59s838.png)
![vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h53m34s245.png](/proxy/?url=https://content.instructables.com/FNE/F2CC/IKR7LSFF/FNEF2CCIKR7LSFF.png&filename=vlcsnap-2016-02-17-14h53m34s245.png)
Once that we have finished the magic ring, we are going to work two chain stitches (to have a total of three chains at the beginning of the round).
To make a chain stitch: yarn over and pull the hook through the loop that was already on it.
Step by Step: FIRST HALF
