Crochet Fishing Line Button

Even small but original things can perfectly highlight your look. I figured out how to crochet a button using fishing line. As a result, you will get the strong, light and original button. The button holds its shape very well.

You will need to know how to crochet:

chain (ch),

single crochet (sc),

slip stitch (sl st),

finish off crochet.

Gathering the Necessary Materials

intro.JPG

fishing line 0.55 mm thick,

crochet hook 2.5 mm (B1),

cardboard,

scissors.

The Piece of Cardboard

Cut a rectangle 0.8 inch wide and 2.5 inch long from the cardboard.

Make an incision on one side of the piece of cardboard.

Cut off the side edges slightly on the other side (see photo). This will make it easier to remove fishing line from the piece of cardboard.

Wrapping

Fix the end of the fishing line into the cut of the piece of cardboard.

Wrap the fishing line around the piece of cardboard, make 20 turns (see photo).

Start Crocheting

Pass the crochet hook under the turns of the fishing line and pull the loop out (see photos).

Crochet 1 ch.

Crocheting Around the Winding Turns

Insert the crochet hook under the turns of the fishing line and pull a loop. There will be two loops on the hook, crochet them together 1 sc. Repeat this step 3-4 times.

Finishing the Main Part of the Button

Remove the cardboard.

Continue crocheting around the turns of the line as in the previous step (crochet sc) until you get crochet the ring.

Crochet 1 sl st to connect with the first loop.

Moving to Jumper

8-22.png

Rotate crocheted ring 180 degrees.

Pull the loop out so that it reaches the opposite edge (inside of the crocheted ring), the working fishing line at the back of the crochet.

Crochet 1 ch. As a result, you will move to the inside of the ring.

Crocheting the Jumper

9-222.png

Crochet 3 ch. Then connect the chain to the opposite edge of the ring, passing the working line over the crochet.

Crochet 1 ch. It will be the jumper of the button.

Reinforcement of the Jumper

10-222.png

Turn the crocheting 90 degrees and crochet 3 sc around the chain (the jumper).

Connect the chain to the opposite edge, passing the working line over the crochet and crocheting 1 ch (it will make the jumper stronger).

Finish of crochet.

Final Details

Tighten the end of the line very good. Cut the line, leaving an end of about 1 inch.

Using the crochet hook thread the end of line inside the crocheted button (inside the crocheted ring), hiding it.

Hide the opposite end of the fishing line as well.
