Crochet Animal Keychains (Pig)
This Instructable will show you how to make a cute crochet pig keychain. These are great to carry around on a keychain, a backpack (above), or just in your pocket as a fun thing to fidget with.
This is part of a series of Crochet Animal Keychains I am making. Currently, you can also find Instructables for a bear, a dwarf hamster, and a dinosaur in addition to this pig.

Pink yarn
Polyester stuffing
8mm Flat-backed eyes
Jump ring
Short Ball Chain
Tools:
4.25mm Crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Jewelry pliers
Hot glue gun
RD1: 6 SC in MR.
Use 6 Single Crochets to make a Magic Ring.
RD2: INC in Each Stitch
Increase in each and every stitch.
RD3: * 1 SC, INC ** Repeat From * to ** Into Remaining Stitches
Alternate 1 Single Crochet then 1 Increase into each and every stitch.
RD4: 1 SC in Each and Every Stitch
Add 1 single crochet to each and every stitch.
RD5: * SLST Into Next Stitch CH4 SC Into Second Chain From Hook. SC 2 SLST Into Base of CH. ** SC 4 Repeat From * to ** for Next Ear. SC Into Each and Every Remaining Stitch.
Slip Stitch into the next stitch then Chain 4 Single Crochet into second chain from hook. Single Crochet 2 Slip Stitch into the base of the Chain. ** Single Crochet 4 Repeat from * to ** for next ear. Single Crochet into each and every remaining stitch.
RD6: 1 SC Into Each and Every Stitch
Add one Single Crochet to each and every stitch.
RD7: SC 11 Stitches. * SLST Into Next Stitch. Ch 4. SC Into Second CH From Hook. SC 3. SLST Into Base of CH. ** SC 3. Repeat From * to ** for Next Leg. SC 1 Into Remaining Stitches.
Single Crochet 11 stitches. * Slip Stitch into next stitch. Chain 4. Single Crochet into second Chain from hook. Single Crochet 3. Slip Stitch into base of Chain. ** Single Crochet 3. Repeat from * to ** for next leg. Single Crochet 1 into remaining stitches.
RD8-10: 1 SC Into Each and Every Stitch
For the next three rounds add a Single Crochet in each and every stitch
RD11: SC 11 Stitches. * SLST Into Next Stitch. Ch 4. SC Into Second CH From Hook. SC 3. SLST Into Base of CH. ** SC 3. Repeat From * to ** for Next Leg. SC 1 Into Remaining Stitches.
This is the same as RD7.
Single Crochet 11 stitches. * Slip Stitch into next stitch. Chain 4. Single Crochet into second Chain from hook. Single Crochet 3. Slip Stitch into base of Chain. ** Single Crochet 3. Repeat from * to ** for next leg. Single Crochet 1 into remaining stitches.
RD12: * SC1 DEC. ** Repeat From * to ** to End of Round.
* Single Chain 1 Decrease. ** Repeat from * to ** to end of round.
Time to Stuff the Pig
Take a generous portion of polyester stuffing and stuff it into the pig. Continue stuffing until the pig is nice and firm.
RD13: DEC 1, SLST Into Next Stitch. CH 3. 1 SLST Into Second CH From Hook. SLST 1, SLST Into Base of CH. Dec Into Remaining Stitches Until Closed. FO
Decrease 1, Slip Stitch into next stitch. Chain 3. 1 Slip Stitch into second Chain from hook. Slip Stitch 1, Slip Stitch into base of Chain. Decrease into remaining stitches until closed. Finish Off
Take your yarn needle and sew closed the remaining opening on the pig.
Snout: RD1: SC 6 in MR. FO. Weave in Ends.
For the snout, Single Crochet 6 in Magic Ring. Finish Off. Weave in ends.
Finishing the Pig
All you need to do to finish the pig is to glue the snout and eyes to the face as seen in the picture.
Now just add the jump ring (using the Jewelry Pliers if you need) to the pig right behind the ears and attach the ball chain.
Now you have a cute keychain to hang off your keys or a backpack!
