Creepy Hand...made From Cardboard and Paper
Hallo,
this is a tutorial how to craft a Creepy Hand made from cheap material everybody will find at home. I needed a hand like this for my halloween monster, so I build one - and the second hand is in this tutorial.
To easily get all the steps I've made a YouTube video:
The other stuff on my channel is in german only, but don't be afraid, have fun and excuse my poor english...
Supplies
Tools you will need:
- scissors
- a pencil
- a brush
- a radiator for faster trying
Material you will need:
- corrugated cardboard
- paper
- cosmetic wipes
- wallpaper paste
- glue
- colors (white and grey)
...patience! ;)
Transfer Your Hand on Corrugated Cardboard
Place your hand on the cardboard. The corrugated cardboard will easily fold with its "corrugation(?)", so use this advantage for the fingers to be movable during the build. Use a pencil to transfer your hand.
Cut Out the Hand
Cut out the hand. Bent / fold the fingers (and the thumb) as you just like your hand to look.
Flesh and Bones
Now use some rolled paper to give flesh and bones to the fingers. Glue the rolled paper on top of the fingers and you got the bones. Let the glue try for a wile.
It's a creepy halloween hand, so you don't need to much flesh...
Skin (first Layer)
Cut a sheet of paper to pieces. Use the wallpaper paste (with a brush) to glue the paper on. Use more wallpaper paste to make everything sticky and proper glued together.
Let the hand try (put it on a radiator for faster trying).
Skin (Second Layer)
Cut the cosmetic wipes in pieces.Tear apart the cosmetic wipes to separate the layers. Use the layers for the next layer of skin the same way as before with wallpaper paste and a brush.
Let the hand try again (put it on a radiator for faster trying).
Colour the Hand
Use white color to make the hand look more "even". You don't have to, without it it'll look more creepy...
I've used some gray color for shading at the end.
Finish
You could add some fingernails (cut out of a pingpong ball), or paint the hand more dramatic. For my Halloween project it looked just fine this way!
I hope you liked my first instructable, for more details in the building process watch the YouTube video:
Have fun and stay creative!
Regards and happy halloween.
