Creeper Hat

A few years ago I saw a creeper hat in a video and I thought to myself, I'm not going to buy that I'm going to make it. So here is the product of that thought. I hope you enjoy I will have the pattern in a pdf for anyone who wants to download.

I used:
4 double pointed size 5/ 3.75mm 7 inch knitting needles
set of regular size 5/3.75 mm knitting needles
size F/3.75 mm crochet hook
yarn needle
Stitch markers
Scissors
a tape measure
Black worsted weight yarn 1 oz is plenty
Green worsted weight yarn 235 yard is more than enough (I use the brand Caron United in the color fresh green)

Take three of your four double pointed needles and cast on 25 stitches to each of the needles

Cut the yarn off with about a foot of extra yarn. Slip the remaining 8 stiches on to a crochet hook and pull the yarn through the 8 loops. Pull the yarn through to the inside of the hat, tie it off and cut off the excise

use the crochet hook to pick up 18 stitches on the bottom edge of your hat

use the black yarn, yarn needle and a reference picture of a creeper face and sew the five pieces on.
I sewed the three nose pieces together first, then I sewed that on, then I sewed the eyes on.

cut 12 pieces of the green that are between 4 and 5 feet long. use the crochet hook to pull the strands through one at a time and pull the ends of the strands are equal . separate the strands into 3 sets of 4, braid it and tie a knot at the end.
do this on both sides making sure the ties are even then tie the knot.
weave in any loose ends, fray check any knots, cut off any excess yarn and you're done.
