Creating an LED Skateboard
Buy 7-Ply Wood
We bought 7 ply wood from home depot. The wood we began with was 2 feet wide and 4 feet long. However, we did not use all of it.
Creating the Deck
We designed the shape and dimensions of the deck with a program called Onshape. This program allows us to design blueprints that can be made into 3D objects. We cut a Skateboard that was 24 x 7 x 1/2 inches using a CNC Router. We then sanded the edges to create a flat surface.
Get a 9 Volt Battery Source
We bought a 9 volt battery and included it in our battery pack. We then used a soldering iron to connect the copper wires in the LED lights to the copper wires in the battery.
Purchase an LED Light Strip
We purchased a blue LED light strip on amazon using prime.
Attach the Battery Pack to the Board
We attached the battery pack to the underside of the board before attaching the trucks.
Attach the Trucks and Barrings
We bought the items that we need on amazon. We then atta67ched the trucks to the deck.
Final Product
The last step is to install the grip tape. You then have your final product!
