Below are a list of materials you'll need to make the candles:

1) Aluminum Can

3) Scissors

4) Candle Wick

5) Double Broiler

Optional:

Start Cutting the Can

Start by cutting the aluminum can horizontally (when set down). Cut as close to the bottom of the can as you can without breaking the bottom dish. You will want to cut the can down till only the dish remains. Throw away the rest of the can in the garbage. Refer to the second and third image on this step as to what it should look like. Once you've finished cutting it down, use a nail filer to smooth out the sides of the dish and help prevent cuts on the skin.

***WARNING*** Please use extreme caution when using the can after it is cut! Once cut, it leaves extremely sharp edges and will potentially leave sharp pieces around as you cut. Please use EXTREME caution.

Choose Your Colors!

Now the fun part begins! Choose out your favorite colored crayons and break them down to fit in the dish. The amount of crayon you use should not exceed the height of the dish nor the width or length. Use scissors to cut down to right size and place in dish to insure it fits.

*Side Note* ~You can use as many colors as you please, but keep in mind the more random colors you use, the more brown color you'll get.

Melting the Crayon

Using your double broiler, put water in the bottom broiler and your crayons from your dish in the top broiler. Set your stove top to a medium level and wait until the crayons melt completely. As your crayons are melting, now is the time to put your scented/flavored extract in with the crayons. Once the crayons are completely melted, immediately pour the melted crayon into the small dish you've made from the the aluminum can.

*IMPORTANT* Move on to the next step immediately!

Placing Your Wick

As soon as you've poured your melted crayons into the dish, take a semi-long wick and hold it upward in the the middle of the dish. You can cut it down once the crayon has dried. Blow onto the crayon until dry while holding the wick in place. Once it is visibly and touchable to the surface, you'll know its done. Leave the crayon and wick to sit for an additional 5 minutes to insure the center is dry as well. Thereafter, you may cut down the wick to your preferred size.

Light It Up!
