Cranberry Walnut Bread

Cranberry walnut bread is soooooo perfect for bread pudding or a sweet/savory combo like turkey blt sandwich.

Supplies

3/4 cup warm water

1/2 Tablespoon active dry yeast

3 Cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1/8 cup olive oil

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 to 3/4 cup dried cranberries

1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Mixing bowl

Measuring cups/spoons

Stirring utensils

Baking sheet

Parchment paper

sharp knife

Proof Yeast

Add the yeast and a pinch of sugar into your WARM water, stir to dissolve

Let sit for about 5- 10 minutes until the yeast has risen

Add Oil and Sugar

Once your yeast has proofed, stir in the rest of the sugar and the olive oil

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl add the flour, salt and cinnamon

Mix well

Add Dry to Wet

Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and stir

Knead Dough

Knead the doughball for about 5 minutes until it becomes a smooth ball

Flatten the dough and add the cranberries and walnuts

Fold the sides over and press to incoporate

Rise

Place the dough ball into an oiled bowl, cover and let rise for about 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

Get Ready to Bake

Turn your dough ball onto the parchment lined baking sheet, use a sharp knife to slit the top of the bread

Bake!

Put your bread into preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes, until golden.

Let cool on wire rack, slice and enjoy
